60MM Makeover, I’m a celeb and catching up

Well hello there - its been some time - apologies about that, life has been a little bit crazy!

Filming 60 Minute Makeover was just amazing! When I was told we were doing 70 shows this series I’ve got to be honest, I was a little nervous. Its a huge amount of shows to keep the quality, content and the energy there. I’m happy to say, not only did we do it, we did it quite easily having lots of fun along the way! I believe this is the best series yet, but I’d be interested to hear what you think, you know how to get in touch by now so don’t be shy!

So what’s been happening in the real World while I’ve been up to my neck in filming? Who’s started to feel sorry for Britney? Come on guys, be honest… At first it was like watch a train wreck, an addictive one at that, but still a train wreck. Now I’m so sad she’s had her children taken away from her. I really hope she starts surrounding herself by people who care about her and not her wallet!

Jungle fever has started - are you excited? I am. One of my old colleagues Gemma Atkinson is on, so please make sure if you are voting that you support her. Its such a brave thing to do. On one hand I’d love to do it for the dear devil stuff, but I’m rubbish without food so I’m afraid it wouldn’t show my best side at all! Fingers crossed Gemma will do ok.

I’m running around trying to get ready for Christmas. I know, I know, its early but every year I’m determined not to be making the mad, last minute dash to the shops and every year I find myself doing exactly that! Here’s hoping I get myself organised for once.

Gonna dash for now - I won’t leave it so long next time.

Love me.x

P.S. Please don’t write to my web admin team or agent about how to get on 60 Minute Makeover, they can’t help you out. ITV deal with the applications directly and I have no influence over the decisions no matter how heart breaking your stories might be!

Hi, i’m sorry this hasn’t got a lot to do with the update but i have recently read the piece you did for the news of the world sunday magazine and i just wanted to say thankyou so much. I had a daughter in january 2006 and have really struggled with motherhood and i identified with everything you said. I wanted to be the perfect mother and i have only recently begun to realise there is no such thing.
I suppose i really want to thank you because in my lowest hours all i kept reading about was celebrities that think motherhood was wonderful and had made them feel complete and all that made me feel was that i was obviusly doing something wrong. It was like a breath of fresh air to read about someone who would admit what bloody hard work it is!!
I would never normally do anything like this, as you can probably tell from me posting it in the wrong place, but i just can’t express what your article meant to me. Thank you

    Chloe,

Many thanks for getting in touch. I know Terri loves to hear from folk, so I’ve sent her an email to let her know you’ve been in touch.

    Cheers,

I think it would be really nice for 60mm to work their magic on homes of the less fortunate, i think this would be much more rewarding. the work done in this series is fantastic but i must admit some of the furniture thrown out is a crying shame and others would be over the moon to have the homes as some of them were in the first place.
probably the poor families would be to ashamed to put their name forward. because they are unable to do any work in their houses for one reason or another.

    Lorraine,

Unfortunately those that are “less fortunate” do not tend to own their own homes. It’s not really possible for the 60MM team to do work on rented or council properties since the owners of the property would have to be consulted and as you can imagine this would mean those getting the makeover would have to be aware so that they could seek the permission of their landlord. This completely goes against the whole point of 60MM being a surprise and as such you’re unlikely to see those that are “less fortunate” on the show. I don’t work on the show so I couldn’t comment about the furniture that’s “thrown out”, but I imagine it is skipped. Like you say, perhaps some of the old stuff could be recycled by others in need.

    Cheers for your thoughts.

  6. Rob Says:

There are no costs involved for those having their house made over.
